Dr. Lynn Heselton, PsyD, MSN, APRN, PMHCNS-BC, EMDR


      Dr. Lynn Heselton is a licensed Texas psychotherapist with more than 20 years of counseling  experience. She has a Doctorate Degree in Psychology, and a Master's Degree in Psychiatric Nursing. She is licensed as an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and as a Registered Nurse. She is Nationally Certified and Texas Licensed to provide counseling. She has worked in many settings including psychiatric hospitals and outpatient treatment centers. She has been providing counseling in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas Area since 2009.  She is currently in private practice in the office of colleague Dr. John Naus's (Psychiatrist) in Colleyville, TX. She is an advocate for her clients and will co-ordinate care with Dr. Naus and associate psychiatric medication prescribers including Rhonda Naus, PA, Cassie Thompson, NP, Mallory Hale, NP, Megan Steach, NP, Tayo Olotewo,NP, and Nicole Thompson, NP.

       Dr. Heselton is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) and was trained by Dr. Francine Shapiro; the creator of EMDR.  She is an author, public speaker and instructor for licensed therapists. She is the co-author of Revisioning: Rapid Mirror Neuron Psychotherapy for Grief and Trauma, published in 2016. Lynn is the developer of Revisioning psychotherapy methods to repair ego damage and dissociation due to childhood or adult trauma. See blog for more information on recent research. Dr. Heselton has trained therapists in Revisioning in DFW and at Sierra Tucson Treatment Center in Tucson AZ.  Dr. Heselton has conducted research in conjunction with Mark Rider, PhD and mental health providers at Sierra Tucson Treatment Center including James Seymour, MD, Camille Drachman, LCSW, Sandra Guilfoyle, LPC, Trish Seek, SEP, Susan Vose MS, Dale DeNunzio, PhD . This research was presented to the World Psychiatric Association Virtual Conference (March, 2021) and published in the Journal of Behavior (Early Online, Volume 3, Issue 1).

         Dr. Heselton is continually learning and incorporating the most advanced and effective therapy methods into her practice. She believes that each client is unique and needs customized psychotherapy to help them reach their goals. She has a warm, supportive, engaging, and interactive approach to counseling, She enjoys talking with people about emotions, and how to achieve emotional healing.
